Welcome to my blog. I want to just give you some inspiration and motivation today and just some things to think about as you go through your day. I hope this inspires you to go out today and everyday and stay focused on your dreams, purpose, and goals. That’s what we need to keep going and to help others keep going as well. Pass on this information and help someone stay focused and you will be surprised how well you feel and how uplifting it is.
For starters, the future depends on what you do today, and the task always seems like it’s impossible until it’s done. It makes a difference when you work on something you really care about, just remember you don’t always have to be pushed, because the vision pulls you! Try to set goals for yourself each day even if they are small. We have all heard the saying “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey” but what if the journey and the destination were one in the same. What if where you are now was the destination and you now have to start living your best life! Don’t look to the future for things to happen, go out and make them happen now. Once you start working on something, don’t be afraid to fail, just don’t give up. Remember that progress isn’t measured or even cares about how fast you do it, it’s based on direction. Are you progressing in the right direction? What are your challenges in life? Remember, don’t limit your challenges, challenge your limits.
We need to change our self, inner talk that we have within ourselves. Try these little changes the next time you start to sound negative. Just stop and think about the limits that you just put on yourself (or your family, friends, kids, etc.). Self-talk is that little inner voice that reveals your beliefs, thoughts, questions, and ideas.
“I can’t afford that.” instead try saying “What can I do to afford that?”
“I can’t do that.” Try saying “Wow, that looks fun or interesting, how can I do that?”
“I don’t have the experience to do that or the time” Instead try saying, “I am resourceful, and others will help me.”
“I tried it before and it didn’t work, I didn’t succeed.” Instead try saying “I enjoy adapting and growing with change, I’ll try it again and not give up.”
There are many reasons to practice and build positive self-talk but here are my 5 important ones to keep in mind.
- Build self-confidence and self-love.
- Improves perspective taking skills.
- Encourages problem-solving skills.
- Builds perseverance and resilience.
- Improves attitude and motivation.
If you think back to your childhood and read the book “The Little Engine That Could” it is about the positive self-talking little engine trying to get up a really big hill. According to Psychology Today, “positive self-talk is one of the most valuable tools you can use to keep yourself emotionally and mentally balanced.” Positive self-talk can ease anxiety and depression, lift your mood and spirits and can build self-esteem all at the same time.
Ideas
Here are some ideas that might help you throughout your day or to start your day. I will give you my routine then maybe it will spark some ideas to help you with your routine. So, I start my day at 5 A.M. with feeding my cat, getting my coffee, and my morning prayer. I then sit on my couch listen to some self-positive affirmations, and then watch some positive motivational videos. I write in my gratitude journal and if there is time I will go for a walk around my neighborhood.
Yes, I have a cat. Anyway, this is just what I do every morning. I learned this from Hal Elrod’s book, “Miracle Morning for millionaires”. Check out his website https://halelrod.com. It is amazing and quite a story. He has written a lot of books about how waking up early and how it transforms your life. I was halfway through his book and started waking up at 5 and have done it ever since. I love getting up early and starting my day. I feel good, can think better and can get more accomplished. Just try it and see for yourself. Read one of his books and try it for 30 days. If after the 30 days, you don’t feel any better then just go back to sleeping in. You’re not out anything.
I believe in a gratitude journal and writing in it on a regular basis due to the benefits and positive feelings you get. You generally can find them at any bookstore or Amazon. You can also just grab a notebook and write down what you are thankful for. You can find some really cool ones here, https://www.amazon.com/stores/Darren-Romig/author/B0CGFYR42S?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true
I hope this help and gives you some ideas on how to feel better, have more positivity, and get more done. Try these things I have suggested for 30 days and see the transformation. Give it an honest try and see for yourself how wonderful it is and how better you feel. If I can help in anyway, please let me know. I help shift workers with feeling better, having more energy, staying positive, and being happier and healthier. I have many recipes, tips, resources, and ideas that you might be able to use. Sign up for my email and I can send you really cool things.
As always, take care and until next time,
Darren
